Lengthen of a spring when a force is applied (4843)

, por F_y_Q

A spring has an elastic constant of 120 N/m. Calculate how much it will lengthen by if a force of 35 N is applied.

P.-S.

You must use the Hooke’s law to solve the problem:

F = k\cdot \Delta x\ \to\ \Delta x = \frac{F}{k} = \frac{35\ \cancel{N}}{120\ \frac{\cancel{N}}{m}} = \fbox{\color[RGB]{192,0,0}{\bf 0.29\ m}}
